AthletePro ("we", "our", "us") provides a name pronunciation service for sports broadcasting professionals. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it — across both our web application and browser extension.
Accounts are created manually by AthletePro administration. We provide you with a login and password. There is no self-registration. You can change your password in settings after your first login. If you lose your password, contact us at the email address below and we will issue a new password within 24 hours.
Account information. We store your login credentials and usage statistics (number of names processed) to manage subscription limits.
Content you provide. When you use AthletePro — through the web app or browser extension — you submit athlete names and country codes. We process these to generate phonetic transcriptions and audio pronunciations. Transcriptions and audio files are stored in a shared global cache, meaning all users benefit from previously processed names. Audio files (MP3) are publicly accessible via URL.
Projects. You can create projects containing lists of athlete names. Project names, descriptions, uploaded files, and processing history are stored in your account until you delete them.
Data stored locally by the browser extension. The AthletePro browser extension stores the following on your device: your login credentials, authentication tokens (access and refresh), default language setting, and interface preferences (such as skipping country selection). Selected text (athlete names) is held temporarily in memory during processing and is not persisted locally.
We use the following third-party services to provide our functionality:
OpenAI. We send athlete names and country codes to OpenAI's API to generate phonetic transcriptions. OpenAI's privacy policy applies to data processed by their service. See: https://openai.com/privacy
ElevenLabs. We send athlete names (in their native script) and language information to ElevenLabs to generate audio pronunciations. ElevenLabs' privacy policy applies to data processed by their service. See: https://elevenlabs.io/privacy
Supabase. All user data — accounts, projects, transcriptions, audio files — is stored on Supabase infrastructure. Supabase's privacy policy applies to data hosted on their platform. See: https://supabase.com/privacy
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties.
We use the data we collect to:
We do not use any analytics services, tracking pixels, or advertising tools. No Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no third-party trackers of any kind.
Authentication tokens are stored locally until you log out or they expire. Projects and processing history are retained until you delete them. The global pronunciation cache (transcriptions and audio) is retained indefinitely and shared across all users. If you request account deletion, your personal data (login, projects, history) is removed. Cached transcriptions and audio that were generated from your requests remain in the shared cache, as they contain no personally identifiable information.
All communication between the browser extension, web application, and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS. Authentication tokens are stored locally in the browser extension's secure storage (chrome.storage). Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
You can log out of the browser extension at any time, which removes all locally stored data from your device. You can delete any project and its associated data from your account. You can change your password at any time in settings. You can request complete deletion of your account and all associated personal data by contacting us at the email address below.
AthletePro maintains a global cache of athlete name transcriptions and audio pronunciations. This cache is shared among all users to optimize performance. The cached data consists of athlete names, phonetic transcriptions, and audio files — it does not contain any user-identifying information. When you process a name, the resulting transcription and audio become part of this shared cache and may be accessed by other users.
AthletePro is not intended for use by children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify registered users. The effective date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last updated.
